Welcome to The Writing Mentor, I'm Antoinette Tyrrell and I grew up in a working class family in rural Ireland. I hold a BA in English Literature and History from NUI Maynooth and worked for many years writing content and handling public relations dramas for Irish Government agencies while straddling two wildly disparate sections of Irish society, commuting between Dublin City and the bog-land of Co. Kildare.
My debut historical novel, Home to Cavendish, was published by Poolbeg Press in 2019. In 2020, despite my Mammy warning me that I was a woeful eejit, I said goodbye to my permanent and pensionable job to become a freelance business and ghostwriter and moved to eastern Spain, where I now live by the Mediterranean with my husband, Ahmed, and our rescue dog, Dokey.
I am represented by literary agent Ger Nichol at The Book Bureau and my latest novel, a work of comedy women's fiction called The Win, is currently on submission.
